Information Systems

Although everyone will likely agree that incorporating an information system into the business processes is a sound practice, not everyone will have the same opinion as to the best way to achieve it. Do you purchase a turnkey system that has the desired elements, customize one to meet your specific needs, or build one from scratch?

No matter which way you go, there is still one key element that will determine your success or failure: the people in your organization. Any information system is only as good as the personnel behind it, so you will need individuals dedicated to implementing, maintaining, and expanding it. These individuals should not be 'computer people' who then try to learn the business; they should be professionals who learn to be computer savvy.
